When you’re the son of a Boston blueblood family, and married to a ketchup heiress, and guaranteed re-election to the most exclusive debating society in the world for as long as you want, there are privileges available to you that are denied to the hoi polloi—such as getting state approval to change the course of a river, and having that state’s taxpayers bankroll the work. Hence this proposed campaign slogan:

“John F. Kerry—Who Are YOU to Deny Him?”
